Medication Management
When medication becomes part of your child’s treatment journey, you deserve thoughtful, informed support. With over 20 years of experience in prescribing and managing medications for complex developmental conditions, Dr. Garriga offers personalized, compassionate care, always tailored to your child’s unique needs.
Whether your child is already taking medication or you're just beginning to explore that option, Dr. Garriga takes time to understand the whole picture, your child’s symptoms, daily experiences, and overall development, before making any recommendations.
If your child is not currently on medication, Dr. Garriga will work closely with you to evaluate their needs, consider alternatives, and determine if medication may be helpful. She takes a cautious, collaborative approach, only prescribing when she feels confident it will support your child’s well-being and long-term growth.
Medication management services include:
-
In-depth evaluation before initiating any treatment
-
Safe and appropriate medication selection, if needed
-
Careful dosage titration and monitoring
-
Regular follow-ups to assess effectiveness and side effects
-
Family education and support throughout the process
-
Coordination with schools, therapists, and other healthcare providers
Medication is never one-size-fits-all. Dr. Garriga ensures every plan is individualized, thoughtful, and backed by consistent, compassionate care. Her goal is to support your child’s overall development, whether that includes medication or not.
Fees & Payment
Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics operates on a direct patient care model and does not accept insurance for medication management associated with developmental diagnoses. This allows Dr. Garriga to offer highly personalized care without the restrictions and limitations often imposed by insurance networks. A monthly fee covers all appointments, communication, and care coordination throughout the month, whether that’s in-person visits, telehealth appointments, or ongoing support. Families are encouraged to reach out as needed, with no additional charges for extra visits or check-ins.
How it works:
-
Appointments are typically once a month at the start of care, allowing Dr. Garriga to closely monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.
-
Once a child is stable and doing well, especially with medication, appointments may shift to every 2–3 months, based on the child’s needs.
-
You are welcome to schedule more frequent visits at no additional cost if concerns arise between check-ins.
This model ensures flexibility, responsiveness, and the time needed to truly understand and support your child, without rushed visits or insurance limitations. For current monthly rates or to discuss whether this model is right for your family, please contact our office directly. We’re happy to answer any questions and walk you through what to expect.
